Welcome Ben 🚀

Welcome Ben 🚀

We are happy to introduce Ben to the studio here at ActionRocket, he will be in the design team as a senior designer. Helping to develop the creative messaging we produce for our great clients.

Hey Ben, it’s great to meet you and a big welcome to the studio! Where have you joined us from?

Hello and thanks for the welcome! It’s a real pleasure to be part of such a cool studio. So I have joined from just down the road in Holborn where I worked for a company called ITG. They were a multi channel digital marketing agency and I worked as part of a team who designed specifically for email.

What excites you most about joining us at ActionRocket?

“I’m fully aware of all the fun you have here! It’s not just about working hard! :)”

I’ve worked in email for over 8 years now, and with the industry being as incestious as it is I have always known about ActionRocket. I’m also aware of the great work that you guys produce here, ActionRocket is a proper creative email design agency and I just really wanted to be part of it. There’s clearly a lot of passion for creative email at ActionRocket and that’s certainly a common interest I share. I’ve actually also followed you guys, and Elliot on social media for years.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I’m a big sports fan so I like to play as many sports as I possibly can. I’ve played footy since I was like 4 so that’s fully ingrained in me although I’m definitely getting to an age where I’m less supple as I used to be. I pulled my hamstring for the first time the other day which freaked the shit out of me! Ol’ man river. I also feel like I spend a lot of my time in the pub but I guess that can’t be counted as a hobby, can it?

I also seem to be doing a lot of DIY on my girlfriends new flat so that seems to take up a lot of my time. The list is bloody endless.

Where do you get your creative inspiration from?

This will probably sound like a cliche answer but we’re surrounded by design inspiration. Everywhere you look there is some kind of creativity which can catch your eye. It could be the branding of a boutique shop, the style of some furniture, the design of a book cover and you’ll be amazed how much creative writing can be found on the door of a pub toilet cubicle!

Obviously the internet offers the most powerful tool for just instantly finding inspiration but that’s the easy answer!

What’s your favourite song to work to?

My favourite song to work to, bloody hell that’s a tough one! Ummm, ok, so two of my new favourite bands are bears den and elder island. Two very cool bands so worth a listen. Otherwise I’m a sucker for the 80s, or a bit of old skool rnb. This is a hard question! Depends what mood I’m in really. I’ve also got a playlist called ‘bedroom beats’ but that’s not so much for the office.

This is too hard to answer. Ok, “lucky man” the verve, always mellows me out and helps me focus.

Leave us with an interesting fact about yourself…

I hate this question! If you asked my friends they would probably say absolutely nothing and I’d probably have to agree. Oh I did live in Mexico for 3 years when I was a kid so I guess you could say I’m part mexican. I came back with a stupid American accent mind. Thank god that didn’t stick. No offence to Americans but it is a whiny accent 😉.
