Sophie’s Top Designs for September

Sophie’s Top Designs for September

This month, emails are doing a rain dance with a spot of yellow fever thrown in for good measure!

1. Moo
SL: Up to 35% off | 48 hours leftMOO

Chosen for:

  • Bold block colouring. The all yellow background that runs throughout this email really stands out from the crowd in the inbox. It also helps connect all the content together.
  • Condensed mobile version. Dropping some of the less important navigation links for the mobile version not only keeps the layout clean on one line but also optimizes space. The main messaging is visible on a phone screen without having to scroll down.

2. AYR

SL: Hi t me up

AYR

Chosen for:

  • Subtle logo and minimal design approach. This works really well for a fashion brand with strong visuals. There’s no fuss with a pre-header, header and nav, you jump straight to the main focus – the hero image.
  • Typography. The layout of the typography has been thought about in this email too, complementing the imagery used in the email.

3. French Connection
SL: Yellow is totally your colour

FCUK

Chosen for:

  • Clean and simple design. Content is spaced out with lots of white space which is pleasing on the eye. Text has letter spacing and CTA’s are also nice and big making them pop out and easy to tap on mobile.
  • Colour theme. Yellow seems to be the go to colour at the moment and French Connection have taken a subtle approach here with copy and imagery.

4. North Face
SL: Simply the finest rain jacket we’ve ever made.

NFace

Chosen for:

  • Subtle animation. Gifs don’t always have to be loud and in your face – there is a time and a place for that (perhaps the 90s!?) This a perfect example of when to do a gif and well.
  • Flow. Elements from the hero image continue further down the email creating a natural scroll effect

5. Mini Boden
SL: Mini coats for almighty weather

miniboden

Chosen for:

  • Illustrative style. The hand drawn illustrations bring these products to life and give them a touch of personality. This fun approach works particularly well for a kids brand.
