#Rockettime with Katie

This months #RocketTime is with our fabulous Account Manager Katie. Telling us why she loves working here and being part of such a close knit team, and also letting us in on her secret hidden talent 😉

Hey Katie, welcome to RocketTime! Let’s begin with how you started your job at Action Rocket and what you did prior to your role here?

Hey! I previously worked in HR back in Manchester and soon realised I loved the people aspect of the job but wanted to do something more creative.

I also love London so decided to just go for it and make the move. Luckily a good friend put me in touch with Action Rocket so here I am! I’m very glad I upped sticks and made the move.

Have you always been interested in this aspect of digital marketing and what is your favourite thing about this industry?

Even when working in HR I helped out the design team with shoots and user research so as I got more interested and involved with the design aspect of things I knew it was for me.

“MY FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE DESIGN INDUSTRY AND OF COURSE THE EMAIL INDUSTRY, IS HOW TIGHT-KNIT THE COMMUNITY IS. IT’S A GOOD PLACE TO LEARN AND GROW YOUR SKILLS FROM SOME GREAT PEOPLE.”

What’s your favourite email or campaign that you have worked on here?

Right now (it changes a lot!) it has to be BBC’s Killing Eve campaigns, we had a lot of fun with the briefs and the work was well received by viewers.

Anywhere we can have free reign with interactivity and out there code is up there for me too. It’s always fab to wow the client and their audience with something they haven’t seen before or didn’t know was possible in email.

What are your favourite things about working for ActionRocket?

We create some amazing email designs here and I love that the whole team is involved with the creative process, so I’d say one of my favourite things is watching how a brief can evolve with the team’s ideas and become a great piece of work.

The team here is the best, they made moving so far away from home much easier and I settled in straight away.

We also have yoga once a week and a massage every month so our wellbeing is a high priority which I love.

What’s your favourite weekend activity?

Now that we (finally) have some sunshine, renting a boat out along the Thames with a picnic, some drinks and good company is my fave thing to do.

I have family and friends all over the UK so I’m often in different cities (sometimes the countryside too). I do especially like to go back home to Manchester for a night out and catch up.

Leave us with an interesting fact about yourself…

I can hula hoop for hours on end without stopping. I think my record is 7 hours and I only stopped because I got hungry.

Haven’t picked up my hoop in a while so it’d be interesting to see what I’m like now a few year’s worth of pints later…
